LLMs are growing in importance for chatbot and voicebot development as a development aid for NLU and conversation flow development.

Voice enablement remains to be a focus point. Traditional chatbot providers are aiming to solve for, and automate customer calls to contact centre agents.

There is still a case for LLM implementations to leverage and augment existing NLU investments with a hybrid approach.

There has been a number of additions to the Generative AI/LLM based flow-builders which acts as a conversational interface. This development is certainly a threat to existing and established chatbot providers.

It seems like chatbot providers are focussing on voice enablement, CCAI use-cases and LLM-assisted development of NLU and flows.
